Fridge GE Repair
This model of the Fridge GE has an often issue - the breakage of the heating element.
The defrost thermostat, which regulates the defrost heater's activity, can also malfunction, causing the GE fridge to have issues with temperature and defrosting cycles. Additionally, a defective temperature control thermostat can lead to the fridge overheating, which can further damage other components, such as the heating element.
As the heating element is made from glass in this model, its lifespan is about 5-6 years after which it needs to be replaced due to natural wear and tear. You can spot it when the fridge is not cooling enough as not working heating element causes evaporator to freeze over, therefore the air is not circulating in the fridge. After replacement of the heating element, fridge is working properly.
