Our company was contacted to repair Fridge GE that had an issue with defrost system that was not starting. One of the common causes of a GE fridge's defrost system not starting is a failed defrost timer, which determines when the automatic defrost cycle should occur. A defective defrost heater can also cause the defrost system of a GE fridge to not start, as it is responsible for melting the ice buildup on the evaporator coil. Additionally, a clogged defrost drain or a malfunctioning defrost thermostat can also prevent the defrost system of a GE fridge from starting, as it interferes with the proper functioning of this important system. During diagnostics was determined that the control board is not putting the signal and power to defrost system. Technician replaced control board after detailed diagnostics and this problem no longer bothered our customers.
